I find that when I do something like finger waves they are very defined and perfect. I feel proud that I did the waves so well but feel they look stiff. Once I was frustrated with the waves and so I tousled, messed and ruffed up her hair and to my surprise it looked so much better! Thanks for your inspiration! 🙂

I love the freedom of creating looks from different decades but find it hard to not make the hair look dated or out of date or theatricla. Making a hairstyle from another time period look up to date is truly a challenge. What is it that makes a “retro” style look up to date?

Hi Becci a retro style is inspired from another period of time, and made modern when fused with today’s sensibility,
for example – taking a 20s structure and making it less formal and more relaxed.
