Hi there my Friends, We are surrounded by object, shapes, colors, texture, all bombarding our senses, from a walk through nature, a museum, or high street. THE BIG QUESTION what do we see? Do we take time to dwell and let ideas marinate, or is our creative mind on Micro wave mod? As the deadline for NAHA draws closer I know many of you are digging deep into your creativity.
This collection below for me is world class – by the Douglas J team (see below as I share more insights)
Expand your creativity – Ok so the plan take your self on an artists date, slow down and look for ideas, then ask your self when inspired; How do I take this idea translate, or interpret the idea into a design? For me, It must have relevance and beauty. The second part in my experience is more tricky to develop. For example any one can put a tree hairstyle on the head, but an interpretation of branches and leaves is totally different to the point that you do not see the origin of the inspiration. Ok stay with me, lets move on.
I have had the honor and pleasure of working with the Douglas J team for many years, the company has a passion for education and pushing themselves to the next level. Their creative leaders Scott Weaver and TJ Weaver are true visionaries following in their fathers foot step Doug Weaver. I have been blessed to share my knowledge through live work shops and HairDesignerTV.com with their company.
Again Douglas J is trail blazing, they have now introduced HairDresserTV.com (that I designed for Schools) into their 5 Aveda School locations. These students are going to have advantages that many never had at school! WOW!
I would like to share Douglas J teams work with you as I am so proud of their achievements, I was fortune to Art Direct this collection which is world class. Bravo to the Douglas J team you light my world.
The inspiration “The Northern Lights” how to take this amazing natural phanominon of nature and translate into a collection and make it look expensive. The is where a photo is worth a 1000 words. A breath taking collection.
Check out this video it will give you great insight to the creative journey.

First and foremost – You ALL are fantastic – your passion really shows in this video. All your creativity as well. I want to thank you for selecting Chistopher Endsley to participate on the Team for this photo shoot – my son is the “northern lights” of my life. Watching your interviews confirms he made a wonderful decision to work at Douglas J with such a wonderful group of people. Being a perfectionist myself (glad my son picked up that trait) – to that end I would only point out one small item: The written credits beneath the video state the Team names which consisted of “Justin Benson” however, TJ refers to him as “Jason” in his interview. No biggie – just wanted to mention it! The outcome of the hair and makeup is magical!
