#4 The Law of Navigation – 21 in series

My series is based on The 21 irrefutable laws of leadership – a book by NY Times Best seller John Maxwell. Should you enjoy this journey you and your team may take the online course

 Hi there my Friends,

welcome back this week #4 the Law of Navigation. Where are we going? How do we get there? How is your GPS system doing?  Confession, I even get lost following a GPS, so what does this tell you?

Knowledge is the new currency.
You don’t have to be good to get started,  you need to get started so that you can be good.
How do you navigate through your day?

I believe that success is within the reach of just about everyone.  We have to have a plan and work the plan, or we drift through life.  I also believe that personal success without leadership ability brings only limited effectiveness.  For example how we lead ourselves through a haircut or color technique determines the outcome, and how we navigate determines our consistency and efficiency.  Without leadership ability, a person’s impact is only a fraction of what it could be with good leadership. And how we get there (Navigation) determines how outcome.

Anyone can steer the ship, but it takes a leader to chart the course

The higher you want to climb the more you need leadership, the great the impact you want to make in your world, the greater your influence needs to be. Whether you are in the salon, a staff meeting, class room or on a photo shoot. Its all about the 21 laws, but lets park with  Navigational skills.

Navigating down the same old path can turn into a rut.

This is a place where many people get stuck.  If I can’t do it well then I just wont start.  Its not going well, so I will quit. In navigating towards a goal  I think the hardest thing to overcome is negative self talk.

As you start the journey its not what you believe your are, but rather what you can become. Good better and best.  Nike says it boldly ‘just do it’.   But a great leader will offer support and say together, we can do it.

As a stylist. Teacher, Art Director, head of department, manager and owner, where ever your focus is today please realize.  With out a clear vision of where, why, and how you will  get stuck in the law of navigation.

This is a very important point to be aware of as we navigate through our lives we are either Preparing or Repairing.

Reality check for this week-
  1. Do you have a teachable spirit to be directed?
  2. Are you open to follow direction, from our leader and or mentors?
  3. Are you prepared to explore new ideas?
  4. What’s the goal behind the goal?

I challenge you this week to put the Law of Navigation into practice – Love to hear from you

Please share this series and add value to others today.

Best wishes
