Hi there my friends,
I love this story of empowerment. You will look up into the sky with a new appreciation. Apply this to your entire life and soar.
WHY GEESE FLY IN A ‘V’ FORMATION.
Whenever the lead goose at the apex of the ‘v’ begins to tire, another goose takes the lead position, and they continue to rotate, sharing the load, so they can ALL get to their destination faster.
By rotating positions, and always supporting the lead goose, it makes the flock more efficient. The goose that is in front, is not always the leader of the flock, they take turns leading, and supporting.
When one goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go at it alone, and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front.
When a goose becomes incapable of staying with the pace of the formation, if he is sick or wounded, two other geese leave the formation and follow the slower goose down. they remain with him, until he is able to fly again, or until he dies, then they catch back up with their flock.
Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their pace* the ‘v’ formation allows unobstructed vision, allowing flock members to see each other, and communicate while in flight.
We need to be careful what we say when we honk from behind…., it needs to be positive, and encouraging.
Naturalists observe that most honking geese… occurs from the back of the ‘v’, while those up front are focused more on flying and less on honking.
You may be thinking that this sounds a lot like a team you know, where the ones doing less of the work, have more time to complain.
In human teams we should look for opportunities to encourage and support the members of the team, especially those that are bearing the heaviest burdens. Members of effective teams support each other, in both obvious and subtle ways.
Today I have deeper insight to the value of a team and the joy of collaboration with great minds. Building a great tribe is my new priority.
What I have learn ‘t over the years is that People will teach what they know,
while they will reproduce who they are.
Do you know what the 3 main barriers are to the Law of empowerment?
I have been so blessed in my career When I became an Artistic Director At Vidal Sassoon I was empowered at the age of 24. When I was made Artistic Director for Trevor Sorbie, again I was empowered and guided along my way. I was a good student hungry to learn, still am a student this mindset has served me well.
Please share this series and add value to others today.
Best wishes
