“Fear is the greatest indicator of opportunity”
Hi there my Friends at HairDesignerTv and Fellow stylists. NAHA is just around the corner. For those nominated its a time of questioning; “Will I or will I not bring home an Award”? Do I write my acceptance speech or head to the bar?
Firstly I would like to congratulate all the nominees. I also want to solute those who entered, who invested time and money into their collections, its a huge undertaking and achievement.
Should you wish to learn more about producing a collection and developing your brand. I will be hosting 2 Facebook lives this week. For HairBrained and Hair Nerds.
Big shout out to Joico for amazing color Photography Julia Pogadina and Roberto Ligresti . Make up David Maderich.
So how do you define success? While I have been fortunate to receive 7 NAHA, I can honestly say the journey was more important to me than the destination. No one can take away my memories, experience and all the learns along the way.
I have certainly Failed forward, learnt my biggest lessons, the challenges have added value to my career and artistry.
When I designed this white collection (below) called Surreal, I struggled so much. In one moment of frustration, I threw a wig across the room, so disappointed in myself that I almost quit!! But in my darkest hour designing, I heard a little voice say . “keep doing the right thing even though the right thing is not happening.” With determination and time, I was able to shift from ‘Can’t do to Can do’ and that quote has helped me so many times since that day.
If you would like to join Icons and Legend Nicholas French another award winning stylist will share his wisdom, and together it is our hope to inspire you. Please check out the link for more information.
