Hello Friends, Fellow Hairstylists, and Members of HairDesignerTV,
The Summer has ended and school is back in session. This is a time where salons are gearing up and preparing for the holiday season. We should be thinking about holiday promos, goals and branding.
Branding yourself and your business is among one of the most important business decisions you must make. That’s why today, I would like to discuss how to get rich in your niche.
“When our customers are looking for a service, they are looking for the emotional appeal of your product.”
So, here are 3 simple steps to finding your niche and monetizing from it:
First, find your why. Find your driving force because on the days your dream seems too far away, you are less likely to give up on it if you have a strong enough why. One of my favorite quotes is one from Victor Frankel in his book titled A Man’s Search For Meaning, “Those who have a ‘why’ to live can bear almost any ‘how.'”
Entrepreneurship is a tough business and if you don’t have a ‘why’, you are more than likely going to lose sight of your goal when the going gets tough.
Second, become the best at it. In other words, own it. Study the history to understand the concepts of your niche. Find education and practice. Become an expert in the area you choose to specialize. A great example of a specialized curriculum that helps to hone in on a specific niche is my 7 Week Razor and Precision Haircutting Workshop from the One Girl, Seven Looks program. It’s a program to take hairstylists from a basic level haircutter to a Master Razor and Precision haircutter in 7 weeks with my one on one coaching and mentoring.
Last, study how the competition is marketing that niche and go your own direction. Find what’s working and continue to do that but put your own spin on it with your own branding.
If you take these tips, put them to work and go after your dreams with all your heart, your version of success with soon follow!! You must get out there and be the best version of yourself behind your chair!!
I would love to hear all about your niche!
Please share, leave a comment, and let me know what’s working with your marketing and what you feel could evolve!
